Almost all tourist attractions are closed on Monday. You have to check out if your desired attraction is open since you might travel for hours and be disappointed to find out it is locked.
We didn't know this, and we traveled to Kyoto imperial palace on Monday just to find out it is closed. This made us to change our plans and find alternatives. So be sure to remember this before you plan your trip.
